Red Nails is a gem in Auburn!I had a badly machined thumbnail growing out, which meant the gel had little foundation to stick to as the damage grew out. It tore repeatedly. Ouch! New to Auburn, I was directed to Red Nails. Could not have done better - they are GREAT! They introduced me to the SNS nail process and fixed my broken nail quickly, for a better price than gel nails. Sceptical, I teased the girls that I'd be back the next day to fix the nail again. They laughed. It was the fastest, most durable and beautifully shaped nail of my life. I returned the following month and will do so whenever I'm on home turf.Thank you Red Nails! Read Less

I used to love coming to Red Nails....that ends today. They still do a decent job, but what bothers me is the sheer lack of respect for people's time. I walked in at 10:40am and asked if they had time for a pedicure. The woman said yes, it will be a 5 minute wait. She directed me to a pedicure chair and I sat down. 15 minutes later someone came by and filled the tub so I could begin soaking. It is now 11:15am (35 mins later) and still no one has sat down to begin. I would so much rather be told that they're busy at the moment and to come back later than waste my time. I worked in a nail salon for years and would've been yelled at by my boss if I let someone wait this long without being up front about how long it will be. If you plan on coming here I suggest making an appointment because walk-ins are obviously not treated like they have a life outside of getting their nails done. UPDATE: I left after waiting a total of 50 minutes. I asked for a towel and told them I needed to leave and the manager came over and had the nerve to say if I was in a hurry I needed to tell them from the start. Pretty sure waiting 50 minutes doesn't constitute being in a hurry, I just have other sh*t to do. Read Less

They do such a good job at this place. It's a really modern and relaxing atmosphere. They are always making sure you feel comfortable. The way they do my pedicure and full set last for about 1-2 months. Usually, places last about 2 weeks for me so that's a huge plus! They definitely do put their guest first which is amazing. Will always be back even though the drive is far from Elk Grove, it's so worth it. For them to accommodate a super picky person like me to leave satisfied. Thank you!!! Also, there's a sign in sheet so remember to always sign in before they start on your fingers and toes! Read Less

Never will I go to some hole in the wall nail salon again. Red Nails in auburn is horrible and wouldn't give me my money back. I asked nicely and said I'm never one to complain but I would just like my money back. They said they would re do it but I wanted to go somewhere else. 47$ they charged me and said would only give me 5$ back. The design I gave her came it so horrible it didn't even look like a flower, it was all smudged .. I wish I could post a picture. Horrible. Junk. And the lady (I think was the Manager ) was so rude and disrespectful, embarrassed me in front of everyone as she was pretty much being loud for everyone to hear. Tried this place out today. Brought my mother here for Mother's Day. So happy with my choice. Extremely clean (this is huge for me), quick, quality service, nails looks amazing and prices were at least $5-$10 dollars cheaper than most places I searched. The gals that run the shop are excellent. I got a pedicure that included a salt scrub and mud mask. It was $25. I'm going back next week to get a full set acrylic, $25. I highly recommend Red Nails! I am not sure for the negative reviews but as a frequent customer here I have to say they are extremely equal to other higher rated places locally. Yes, like all salons sometimes they are slammed and you mat feel rushed but most all my visits are very relaxing and enjoyable! They're always adding new colors and techniques and trying staying current with the trends. As most salons some nails girls/guys are better then the others so when you find your match get their name and keep using them. Their prices are average, if not better and they always seem to be so welcoming which I love! So hey sure don't come here, you'll only free up More space for me to get right in but on a not so selfish note do go and be open minded and clear as to what you want and don't just walk out unhappy speak up if you want something more filed down or hate the color or they missed a spot before you go and knock the whole place :) Meantime it's my fav place in A-town! Unskilled operator, just went through the motions, massage IS lightly rubbining in OF lotion, irritating AND FAR FROM BEING RELAXING just told her it was ok!!!! A second gal did the manicure during the pedicure, tugging my arm IMPATIENTLY, AGGRESSIVELY across my body looking towards the door, and yakking away in Chinese. Neither of them cleaned under my nails or pushed back cuticles.UPSET that I declined the upgrade scrub. 'good for you' they said!!!!! I came here as a recommendation from a massage therapist in town since I am visiting for the weekend because of a wedding. This place is clean and friendly. I love it when I can walk into the door and be acknowledged, which I was. I picked a color and within minutes I was in a massage chair soaking my feet. I chose a pedicure that incorporates fresh lemon and warm tea. I had never heard or seen a thing like that. It was very nice and left my skin nice and soft. The one thing that made me decide to write a review is the fact they actually massage the feet and legs during the treatment. So many places just slap lotion on and barely rub it out and call it a massage. I throughly enjoyed my relaxing time here. If I lived here, this would be my regular place for mani/pedi's. Read Less

I have been getting my nails done for decades (pink & white acrylics) & was going to Lucky Nails until they changed ownership it was great, best in town, hands down, but since Helen & her husband took over, my nails have just been in bad shape (lifting, breaking) so I tried Red nails to see if they could do better. If you like having your technician dig her natural nails painfully into your hands while she works, then by all means, this place is for you. They did a decent job with the actual application, but the technique is terrible. I kept telling her she was hurting me (and she just kept talking to her associate in Vietnamese & ignored me) I had a pedicure with my daughter, also - again painful. I won't return. Read Less

Rule Number One: don't screw up the brows.This place used to be our go to for nails, waxing, everything. They were inexpensive, they weren't pushy and they remembered us. I went there back in April to get my nails done. I thought they closed later but they said they could still do a mani/pedi for my sister and I. IT WAS SO BAD. Never even touched my cuticles.So we decided no more nails, just waxing...Then today they screwed up so bad we won't be back ever.
